Spring pressure terminal block reduces installation time for large conductors up to 185 mm2

Stand A68 at PPMA 2017 (26-28 September) sees WAGO present its spring pressure rail-mount terminal block for high voltage conductors, the 285 Series. The rail-mount terminal block supports conductors up to 185 mm2 for current loads up to 353 A, and voltages up to 1000 AC/DC, or 1500 DC. It can reduce installation time and maintenance costs for high voltage applications in energy-intensive industries such as machinery and equipment manufacturing.
The terminal block uses spring pressure connection, which is 50 percent quicker to wire up compared to screws, and immune to loosening over time. They are also more resistant to vibration and overcurrent, and free from maintenance, eliminating the need to periodically check and tighten loose connections while improving overall reliability.
Also on the stand will be WAGO’s sensor terminal blocks, which pack two signal terminations into a 7 mm-wide housing. Wiring requirements are significantly reduced, as live, earth and neutral only need to be fed into an assembly once, from which it can be commoned to all other terminals. This saves money and cabinet space through reduced cabling, while also lowering installation time.
WAGO will be demonstrating the new ECO variant of its EPSITRON® power supply unit, which offers a robust power solution for 24 VDC applications where control cabinet space is at a premium, such as coffee or vending machines. The unit conforms to EN 60335, bringing industrial power supply capabilities into consumer appliances, and opening up new opportunities for machine builders. Its metal housing withstands rugged treatment, and EPSITRON ECO can be mounted on a DIN-rail, or screw fixed horizontally, vertically or overhead for maximum flexibility. A voltage range of 325–575 VAC leads to a high tolerance against fluctuations, resulting in high operational reliability.
As well as interconnection and electrical interface products, WAGO will be demonstrating its wide range of automation solutions. A programmable fieldbus controller, the PFC100, includes variants with a width of 50 mm, making it suitable for compact spaces. Its 600 MHz processor means the controler is capable of automating individual devices all the way up to complex processes.
The PFC100’s Linux® operating system and CODESYS 3-based configuration platform ensures ease of use and short development times by allowing programmers to use languages with which they are already familiar. Compatibility with all commonly used fieldbus protocols ensures that the PFC100 can be used with devices and systems from other vendors while speeding up installation times.
