A MARATHON EFFORT FROM OUR MD! - Greg Horsley takes on the London Marathon
21 April 2017
It's not often that we at Process and Control Today make the front page ourselves; but we felt that this was such an important and exciting event it deserved headline status.
Our own MD, Greg Horsley (pictured with his daughter Emily), is running in this Sunday's London Marathon in support of two charities. The first in memory of his nephew, Adam Tolfree.
"As some of you may know, my nephew, Adam, died very suddenly from a rare form of meningitis on 7th January this year. There was very little warning and the medical team did all they could to save him. Like most his age he had had the ACWY meningitis vaccination but this did not include the B vaccine, which is not given routinely to teenagers! Adam was only 16, and was a lovely, kind, strapping lad who had just started studying for his A Levels and had his whole life ahead of him. It's left us all devastated.
Adam kept himself fit and loved his sports, and had a real passion for running; therefore I could not think of a more fitting way in which to honour his memory, so on Sunday 23rd April I will be running the London Marathon.
I will be fundraising and raising awareness for Meningitis Research Foundation as something has to be done to stop others like Adam dying from this virus.
Thanks so much for any donations that you are able to make."

Greg is also raising money for charity Learning for Life, inspired by the late Dan Doherty. Greg says,
"I was lucky enough to know our dear friend Dan for many years, before he was taken far too soon by cancer and passed away on March 16th 2016. The Learning for Life charity meant so much to him and they have worked tirelessly to build a school in Dan's name in Nepal. The charity lost twelve of its schools after the horrific earthquakes in 2015.
Well after a skydive from 12,000 feet that a team of us did in August of 2016, together with various other fundraising events since then, in February of this year the building of the school was completed which was amazing. However, we now need to furnish it and keep it running and here's where you and I come in again"
